What is Brand Photography, really?

Brand photography is all about storytelling. It's about who you are what you do, and how you do it- differently.

You may not be the only person who does what you do- but you are the only you- and that is your greatest superpower. How do you set yourself apart from the crowd? You show off what makes you different from all the rest.

Your approach and your style.Your values. Your personality, your voice, the things that inspire you. What better way to share that with your audience than to SHOW them.

What will Brand Photos do for my business?

As well as helping you stand out from others in your industry, brand photos also remind your audience (your future customers, that is) that there is a real live person behind your business- you aren't just a big faceless brand!

Authentic brand images build trust, feed curiosity and help your audience feel like insiders to a secret club they want to be a part of.

People buy from people, especially when it comes to supporting small and local- so like it or not, you need to share that beautiful face of yours and let you clients see you working your magic!

Is Brand Photography the same as Headshots?

Headshots are silly a professional photos that shows your face- that's it.

A brand photo session is about a lot ore than that: collection of images that share the complete story of you and your business.

Your brand images should focus on three things: showing off who you are, what you do, and how you do it differently.

They will include some (relaxed!) headshots, sure- but they'll also show off your process, your products or services, your workspace, your brand personality and your behind the scenes. Pretty thorough, eh?

My brand photography packages start from £650

If you are ready to create images together that aren't just photos, but that are part of a strategic plan to build your brand confidence and help you stand out in your industry make sure to get in touch!

the process

Let's chat
You tell me all about your business- how it started, where you are now and what your next goals are. We'll also chat about what you hope to achieve from your brand photography session and by the end of our conversation we'll know if we are a good fit!

Research

I'll hunker down learn all about your brand and your business - personality, values, style and approach - and take a peek at

what's happening in your industry.

Planning

Together we plan out your session: from goals to content strategy and then down to the finer details like locations, setups, and outfits. We certainly won't be winging it (though I do try to keep it

relaxed and flexible!)

Phototshoot

While I'll take the lead on this part, it will still be a collaborative effort. Your input and ideas are most welcome, and I'll let you

take some sneaky peeks at the back of the camera as we go so you know we are on track (and can see how much you're rocking it!)

Full Gallery

After the shoot, I carefully edit your images, starting with a sneak peek, which I send your way to make sure you are happy with the editing style. Once I receive your input I'll make any necessary changes before editing the full set and preparing your digital gallery.

Strategy

Love your new images but aren't sure how to use them best? This optional step provides another level of service: creating a detailed visual content strategy for your images, to get your message across and build a stronger brand. Read more about it here.

  • What if I'm not sure about my USPs (what makes my brand different)?
As a brand photographer, I don't JUST take photos - in fact, the stuff I do with my camera is only a small part of what I do. Am I here to create professional, on-brand images? Yes! But I'm also here to help you figure out what makes your business unique, and how best to show that off in captivating imagery. You might think you need to have this all figured out before you think about brand photography, but it's actually a process we can work through together. And with my combined experience in both brand photography and marketing and communications, I can offer a strong perspective on creating the perfect visual content to help you stand out online. I'm not just a photographer, I'm also an expert in visual communications. ;)
  • What if I don't like having my photo taken?
Join the club! When I get new enquiries in, almost all of them say something like "I know I need to be in my photos but I'm SO awkward in front of the camera" or "I'm not photogenic, you'll have your work cut out for you". I get it - I really do. Most of us equate having our photo taken with the awkwardness of school portraits or traditional wedding photos- forced smiles and sitting still in stiff poses. Thankfully, my brand photography sessions are nothing like this. We'll have worked closely together to plan your session so by the time I arrive you'll already know me and it'll feel like a catch up between friends, making it that much more comfortable. I'm as laid back and friendly as people come, and I take a candid approach to brand photography, offering light directions but focusing on genuine smiles and movement - no cheesy poses required. Based on feedback from previous clients (click here to read what they have to say), it's fair to say that you might even enjoy having your photos taken - imagine that!
  • How many images will I get?
Every session is different, and it really depends on the number of locations, the length of your session and the time needed to prepare each setting. A good rule of thumb is to expect a minimum of 20-25 images for every hour we shoot for, however we usually end up with a lot more!
  • Where should I use my images?
Most people will use their brand photos on social media and on their website, but you can also use them for print marketing, article submissions, and anywhere you want to promote your business. If you're not sure how to effectively communicate your message through your photos I can help with that too. • What will it cost me?
Brand Photography packages start at £650 for a two hour brand and content shoot in up to two locations in the same area. I also offer a half day shoot for those who are looking for a larger portfolio of photos or more locations. Live in Glasgow and want to do your shoot locally? I offer a one hour Brand Mini Shoot for local Glasgow small businesses- this is priced at £450. I do offer payment plans, so you can split the cost of your chosen package across the term of us working together. Interested in more details? Pop me an email for my Info Pack that includes everything you need to know. hello@smallfishgalsgow.co.uk
  • Do you work outwith business hours?
Yes! I work with a lot of mums and women who are juggling a lot of plates. So I offer evening sessions and sometimes even weekend brand photography sessions when needed. Just let me know when we chat and I will take your schedule into consideration.

"Rhiannon was prompt, professional and an absolute dream to work with.

She came up with ideas to capture great photos, ideas I would never have even thought of. She knew the kind of client I wanted to appeal to and used that to capture such wonderful shots. She made me feel at ease throughout.

I hate getting my photo taken but somehow Rhiannon just makes you chat away and manages to get really natural photos perfect for my business.

She's down to earth and had a genuine want to help people through her skills. She is and will always be my 'go too' for any photography needs."
